Emmanuel “Gameboy” Tagoe has recovered from a hand injury and now scheduled to fight Russia’s Vyacheslav Gusev for the vacant International Boxing Federation (International) (IBF) and World Boxing Organisation (WBO) Africa Lightweight titles, slated for February 23, at Bukom Boxing Arena, Accra.
The ”Asamoah Gyan Fight Night 2” originally scheduled for January 26, was postponed due to the injury sustained by the former International Boxing Organisation (IBO) Lightweight Champion.
Tagoe, has impressive record of 29 wins and has been defeated once and was impressive in his last outing in the ring when he dominated Namibia’s Paulus Moses in a Africa lightweight contest in October last year.
The 33-year-old Russian boxer on the other hand, would be looking to stage a magnificent comeback in the ring by winning the title.
He currently holds a record of five losses, out of 30 fights with eight coming by way of knockout.
Gusev, a former IBF International Super Featherweight Champion, back in September, knocked Yotchanchai Yakaeo from Thailand in an impressive fashion in a final eliminator bout.
The ”Asamoah Gyan Fight Night 2” would also witness some thrilling bouts on the night with popular Ghanaian boxing sensation, Bastie Samir take on Benin’s Lokossou Raoul.
